Clearwater Personal Injury Law Firm - Workers' Compensation

This information is dedicated to our clients who have been injured on the job.

Being injured at work is both frustrating and unfortunate. Not knowing your rights and responsibilities under the Florida Workers' Compensation Law is even more frustrating. During our 50 plus years of representing injured workers, we understand that injured workers often become frustrated with the workers' compensation system because they are uncertain of their rights. Unfortunately, this frustration and stress can hamper recovery from work-related injuries.

It is important to understand that the Florida Workers' Compensation Law has been modified and amended by the State Legislature many times. This information focuses on the Law that affects work-related accidents that occurred after January 1, 1994. If a work-related injury occurred before January 1, 1994, the injured worker may be entitled to different and/or additional benefits not addressed in this information. I encourage pre-1994 injured workers to contact my office if they have questions regarding their rights and responsibilities under the specific Law that governs their injury date.

It is important for workers to understand what to expect after a work-related injury since benefits under the workers' compensation system are limited. A realistic understanding may help relieve some of the uncertainties an injured worker may experience. It is my sincere hope that this information eases some of the frustration and stress an injured worker suffers, which in turn may advance recovery.
